Our
Story

The "Stage de Musique Promenois" was founded in 2020 by Juan Braceras (Violinist / Artistic Director) and takes place in the majestic Château de Promenois, owned by Georg and Dorothea Fankhauser, in the heart of Burgundy.
This unique location not only provides an inspiring environment but also invites artists to experience a transformative journey that goes far beyond music. Thanks also to the unwavering support of the Stiftung Pirolo, this project has become a meeting point for artistic excellence and creative reflection.
At Promenois, the relationship between teachers and students is completely redefined. Far from a traditional hierarchical model, these roles are lived as an essential exchange, an act of passing the torch to new generations. This transmission is based on the shared courage of facing artistic challenges and on experiences lived hand in hand, making mutual learning transcend any structure of authority.
Throughout the week, we create an environment that fosters both artistic growth and personal well-being, integrating activities that nurture body, mind, and spirit. For example, we begin the day with QiGong, a practice that helps connect inner energy and prepares the body for creative work. We also offer Shiatsu therapies, which relax and revitalize participants, releasing physical and emotional tension.
In the evening, we often gather to watch the sunset together, a moment of calm and connection with nature that invites introspection. During the day, we organize activities such as reciting poetry, discussion groups on artistic or philosophical topics, reading music together, exploring repertoire, and singing choral works, where the blending of voices strengthens the sense of community. The core of the stage lies in the group and individual lessons, where each musician finds a personalized space to explore their craft and receive direct guidance. In addition, shared meals at a regular rhythm and in communion become fundamental moments to nourish not only the body but also human connections.
Surrounded by the calm and natural beauty of Burgundy, Promenois offers an environment that invites artists to immerse themselves in their creative pursuits. Here, time seems to slow down, allowing participants to dedicate themselves fully to their projects, explore new ideas, and deepen their relationship with art and themselves.
Beyond being a place to perfect techniques, Promenois represents a community where art is lived as a profoundly human act, sustained by authenticity, respect, and intergenerational connection. It is a true sanctuary where artists find not only a space for growth but also a home for their creative spirit.
Here, art is not limited to technical execution; it is a process of introspection and exploration that fosters the holistic development of the artist, both personally and professionally. Art transcends barriers and hierarchies. Every encounter, every challenge overcome, and every note played contributes to strengthening the human connections that give music its meaning. It is a space where generations intertwine, and art becomes a bridge toward a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
